What actually is The Antiswipe?

We’re a dating events brand bringing singles together in real life – no apps, no swiping, no ick.

Think fun, laid-back experiences where you can actually talk to people face-to-face. Wild concept, we know.

From padel and singles walks to games nights and creative experiences, we're all about making meeting new people feel natural, without the pressure of traditional dating events.

Is The Antiswipe speed dating?

Nope. No clocks, no chairs, no awkward rotations.

Our singles events are experience-led, which means there's always something to do while you get to know other people.

We might throw in a little prompt or activity to help get the atmosphere right, but we won't have you sitting opposite someone with three minutes to impress them.

Can I come to a singles event alone?

Absolutely! In fact, around 95% of our attendees do!

We know turning up somewhere on your own can feel a bit daunting, which is why our hosts are there to welcome you and help everyone settle in.

And the lovely thing is, The Antiswipe has become a bit of a community! We have lots of people who come back time and time again, not just to meet someone romantically, but because they genuinely enjoy the events, the people and having something fun to do with other singles. You'll often start recognising familiar faces!

Coming with a friend? That's fine too. Just make sure you don't spend the whole event attached at the hip. You're here to meet new people, after all!

What kind of singles events do you run?

A bit of everything!

Think padel, singles walks, games nights, wine tasting and plenty of other experiences.

We're not about putting a load of singles in a bar and hoping for the best. Our events give you something to do together, making conversation and connection feel a whole lot easier.

Do I need to be good at sports or have experience with the activity?

Nope! Our events are beginner-friendly, including our flagship padel for singles sessions.

You don't need to be the next sporting superstar. We're here to meet people, have fun and maybe discover a new hobby along the way.

Just check the individual event description for any experience or fitness requirements.

What if I don't meet anyone I fancy?

Honestly, it happens!

We're not promising you'll meet the love of your life. We are promising an experience designed to be enjoyable regardless.

You might meet someone you fancy, make a new friend, discover a new hobby or simply have a really good time.

There's more to a great singles event than walking away with someone's number.

How does the Nudge Room work?

Spotted someone you liked but didn't quite get the chance to exchange details?

At most of our events, you'll have access to our virtual Nudge Room afterwards, where you can privately let us know who caught your eye.

If that person independently expresses interest in you too, your details will be shared so you can take it from there.

We don't decide who should connect or pick people for you. We don't match. We meet.

Ages, attendees and gender balance

What age range are The Antiswipe events for?

We run singles events for different age groups, including people in their 20s, 30s, 40s and beyond.

Each event has its own advertised age range, so make sure you check the individual listing before booking.

We're always exploring opportunities to introduce new age ranges based on demand and we rotate age range events as fairly as possible.

We are branching out across the UK this year so some of these events may have a wider age range while we establish the Antiswipe in that region!

What's the average age of people attending?

It varies by event, but our attendees are generally in their 30s, with an average age around the mid-30s at many of our events.

We run different age ranges, so we'd recommend choosing an event that feels right for you.

Can you tell me the exact ages of people attending?

Unfortunately not!

We advertise age ranges to help you choose the right event, but we don't provide individual age breakdowns or details about attendees who have booked.

If you're looking to meet people within a particular age group, we'd recommend choosing an event advertised for that range.

I'm older or younger than the advertised age range. Can I still attend?

Our age ranges are there to help create an experience where people feel comfortable meeting others at a broadly similar stage of life.

We'd encourage you to book an event within your age range rather than one aimed at a significantly different age group.

We're always looking at demand for new age ranges, so keep an eye on our upcoming events.

Are your singles events gender balanced?

Yes! This is something we take seriously and somehow have managed to nail!

We carefully manage ticket sales and events to aim for an even split of men and women at our events.

Of course, last-minute cancellations and no-shows can happen, so we can't guarantee an exact 50/50 split on the day (although 99.9% of the time it is!).

Gender balance is about creating a comfortable, intentional and well balanced environment for everyone, not guaranteeing you'll meet someone you're romantically interested in.

Why are women's tickets sold out but men's tickets are still available (or vice versa)?

Women tend to snap up their tickets early to avoid disappointment, while men generally leave it until the last minute! That's just the dating events culture we've come to know. 😂

We carefully manage ticket sales to keep our events gender balanced, so if one ticket category sells out before the other, it doesn't necessarily mean the event itself is full.

We know it can be frustrating when your ticket category is sold out, but maintaining that balance is an important part of the experience. If tickets are sold out, you can join the waitlist on the event's ticket page in case more become available.

Our advice? If you spot an event you fancy, don't leave it too late!

Can you tell me how many people are attending or who has booked?

Each event has a different capacity depending on the venue and activity.

We try to include the expected number of attendees on each event page, although for brand-new events, this will be our best estimate based on previous experience.

We don't share guest lists or individual attendee information in advance.

Part of the fun is turning up and seeing who you meet!

How do I get tickets?

Head to our Events page to see what's coming up, or join our mailing list for first dibs.

Tickets often sell out, particularly in certain age ranges or ticket categories, so don't hang about if something takes your fancy.

What's included in my ticket?

It depends on the event!

Our tickets typically include the organised activity or experience, Antiswipe hosts and, at many events, a welcome drink.

We put a lot of effort into making our events good value for money, while keeping ticket prices as accessible as possible. That means covering not just the venue, activity and hosts, but all the additional behind-the-scenes costs that come with running a small business!

Everything included will be listed on the individual event page, so give it a read before booking.

Can I get a refund if I can no longer attend?

Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable, as outlined at the point of booking.

We know plans can change, but our events involve advance commitments to venues, equipment, hosts and other costs.

We also carefully manage ticket sales to maintain gender balance.

Please make sure you can attend before purchasing your ticket. This doesn't affect your statutory consumer rights.

Can I transfer my ticket to someone else or another event?

Unfortunately, tickets are non-transferable.

Each event has its own capacity, age range and ticket allocation, so we can't simply move tickets between events or attendees.

Do I have to drink alcohol to attend?

Not at all!

Plenty of people come along and don't drink, and that's the beauty of an experience-led singles event! There's always something to do that doesn't revolve around alcohol.

Where a welcome drink is included, there will always be non-alcoholic options available.

We're here to meet people, not see who can drink the most!

What happens if an event is cancelled?

If we need to cancel an event, we'll contact ticket holders directly with details of the available options.

We always aim to give as much notice as possible (and has only happened once due to something out of our control).

What happens when I arrive at an Antiswipe event?

Don't worry, we won't leave you standing awkwardly in a corner wondering what to do!

You'll receive an email before the event with everything you need to know, including where to go and what to expect.

When you arrive, our Antiswipe hosts will be there to welcome you, help you settle in and explain how everything works.

Around 95% of our attendees come alone, so you'll be in very good company. And remember, everyone else is there to meet new people too!

Are The Antiswipe events just for people looking for a relationship?

Not necessarily!

Of course, we're a singles events company, and plenty of people come along hoping to meet someone romantically. But we've also built a lovely little community of people who genuinely enjoy coming to our events.

We have lots of regulars who come back because they enjoy the experiences, meeting new people and having something fun to do with other singles.

Whether you meet someone you fancy, make new friends or discover a new hobby, it's all part of the experience.
